| the RULES ... back |
| simply put: if it's for your own enjoyment, help yourself. if you're going to share it with other folks, don't alter it without asking me first. if it's going into something that's going to be sold, you must talk to me first. if you work for a newspaper or magazine and want to use my work, contact me first so I can get you a higher res copy ... if the usage is publicity for the band, there will never be a charge. if the usage is to make you money, we'll have to talk. |
| a few basic rules about my photographs and what you CAN and CAN'T do with them: |
| 1)
you can
download them and do whatever you like with them on your own computer:
wallpaper, screen saver, whatever. You can even alter them in an editing
program (if you must) ... I might not really like the idea, but what the
hell, as long as you keep them to yourself. However, 2) you can't alter any of my photographs and then provide them for others to see without my permission, either by emailing them, creating CD covers with them, putting them up on your own site, etc. The images look the way they do because I want them that way, and any changes will have to be with my permission. You can share them (unaltered) with other people, either electronically or in hardcopy format, as long as you don't remove the copyright notice from the image ... you can't remove the copyright and claim you took the image (I know, sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised ...) 3) any use of the photographs that involves money must be negotiated with me ahead of time. they can not be included in any for profit publication (newspaper, magazine, etc.) without express permission of the copyright holder (dat's me, y'all) ... having said that, I will always give permission for their use if it's in the band's best interest. They certainly can not be reproduced and sold or exchanged for value without my permission, and any such sale or exchange will also have to be approved by the band.
